Audiovox's slender, silver D1812PK portable DVD player features an 8-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD designed to match the image dimensions of your favorite movies. It's compatible with DVD-Video (PAL or NTSC), audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded music discs. You can even enjoy an onscreen slideshow of your cherished digital photos from recordable CDs filled with JPEG image files.
The D1812PK comes with a deluxe road kit featuring a carrying case that doubles as a headrest, 2 sets of folding, over-ear headphones (headphone audio splitter not included), a battery-saving vehicle DC power adapter, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides around 2 hours of playback (power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc).
The player comes with switchable audio/video input/output jacks, letting you use it on the road for monitoring camcorder footage or gaming devices, or in the home as a high-quality video source device using the supplied AV cables. Listen through the unit's built-in stereo speakers or through headphones. With the battery pack attached, the unit weighs 2 pounds.

It was great! I'll be honest, it is hard to hear some dialoque on airplanes, but I think better headphones would help. I decided to play foreign films so I could read along with the subtitles and that solved that problem. I watched one and a half movies on a trip from Raliegh to LA and it was the nicest time on a plane I have ever had. The pictures is amazing, and if you aren't on a plane the sound is great. When the battery dies (after about 3 hours), it makes a horrible sound, and the games included are loud and archaic, but I didn't buy it for games, so I don't mind. I really like this system and it was a great price. I bought a year long extended warranty just in case after reading the reviews. I've had it a month and have seen about 8 discs on it. It was a long trip, with many traffic and weather delays, so this product certainly helped keep our boys busy. It has two headphones so noone was complaining that they couldn't hear. It kept it's charge the entire trip-over eight hours- and comes with an easy adapter for recharging in the car or in a hotel. My husband and I also used it when the boys were asleep. The headphones let us watch without disturbing their sleep. I would certainly recommend this to anyone. |
