An S-video output accommodates newer televisions, while standard composite-video is also available. Besides DVDs and CDs, this deck can also play video CDs and Super Video CDs, lower-resolution video formats popular in Asia and, with the proliferation of VCD encoding software, taking hold in the U.S. as well. Using your computer, you can copy your home movies to VCD and watch them on the DVG-3000N.

Manufactured in China and backed by a well known Korean brand, this player is everything you need if you are more concerned about watching movies than about buying the ultimate techno-hype. 59 of 60 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Daewoo DVG-3000N DVD Player (Silver) (Electronics) I have several DVD players. One SONY (DVP-F5), one Toshiba (DP-1600), a SONY PlayStation 2, and an APEX AD-1500. This is the second cheapest one, costing only a few dolloars more than the APEX. And this is easily my player of choice at home, even above the far more expensive SONY and Toshiba models. The number of formats it supports is the most on any player I've ever come across, even more than all of the APEX players. And few people know that this system allows you to watch DVDs from Regions 1-6 on a NTSC TV, and there is even a "loop-hole menu" that allows you to turn off Macrovision (may be absent from newer models). The DVD video quality is actually superior to the Toshiba and APEX models, and the optical output on the sound is rich. The MP3 playback is also very good, and easily worth the price alone. The VCD playback is the best feature though, not only is this the best VCD player for a TV in terms of picture/sound it also has RW, FWD and chapter capabilities for (S)...Read more 53 of 58 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Daewoo DVG-3000N DVD Player (Silver) (Electronics) I purchased one of these Daewoo dvd players a while back, and I'm going to buy another one because I gave my first to my brother. This player is a great value, and it works perfectly. I honestly can't tell the difference between this and the much more expensive Toshiba dvd player my parents have. The color (silver) is also very cool. |
