Denon DVD-558 Progressive Scan DVD Video/CD Player

I am very pleased with the functionality and overall appearance of this player and the image quality that it produces. The drawer is very flimsy though, and I wonder how long it will last. If the drawer were sturdier, I would have given it a 5-star as being great bang for the buck.

This was a replacement for another DVD player that stopped working. I was frustrated and hesitant to buy another one too quickly. I did a lot of research and settled on this DVD player. It has exceeded our expectations!!! The memory feature when you turn the unit off and then back on is so convenient, especially when my son is playing with the remote while we are watching a movie. The picture and sound quality are great and we have not had any issues with the unit not playing any of our DVD's.

I bought this to play music discs when my older Sony CD component player died. Music reproduction is great with this player and I was very happy with the price from a known quality company. I have not used it for video yet.
