Unless the DVD in the player is in perfect condition, it will not function. It seemed to be missing a feature that any 'portable' player requires. It had no detectable buffer to work around even the smallest imperfections on the discs. If the device was moved in any way, the picture and sound stop completely or break up into a storm of pixels.
If you have a DVD collection that is in absolutely perfect condition, and you never plan to take your 'portable' player anywhere, then I suppose the device performs its function. If you have children or plan on watching a player in the car, then look elsewhere for a device that actually functions correctly. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) When I press buttons on the player itself, I get good results. However,these are not major problems and in no way affect the "likability factor" of this product, so...
