GoVideo's GVP7811 portable DVD player offers extended, three-hour battery life and anti-skip protection for uninterrupted enjoyment while watching movies and listening to music on the road. The unit's broad, 7-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD uses thin-film-resistor construction to render smooth, vivid images. Built-in stereo speakers grant headphones-free listening, and the player comes with everything from AC and DC home/car power adapters to a convenient carrying case and a full-function remote control.
The GVP7811 offers full compatibility with DVD-Video, VCD/SVCD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-encoded discs, Kodak Picture CDs, and JPEG image discs. Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output (through an minijack-to-Toslink optical digital-audio cable, not supplied) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.
Interlaced S-video and composite-video outputs simplify hookup with your home TV. Even better, the composite-video and stereo analog audio outputs are switchable as inputs, so you can use the GVP7811 as a monitor for a camcorder, VCR, or gaming console if you wish. Headphones are not included.

Summary: Great DVD player!! 2010-01-25
Comment: This DVD player is awesome. I bought it 5 years ago for my wife and it's still going strong. Battery life is a little over 3 hours which is fairly good for a player of it's time. The remote is easy to use and the controls are easy to navigate. Though there are other players with larger screens and smaller battery packs, this is definitely a keeper.

Comment: Player was defective on receipt, only played intermittently. When it did play, the sound and picture quality were poor. The 7 inch screen is just too small to be functional, I suggest spending the extra $150-200 and getting a larger screen and higher quality player.

Comment: I have had the gvp7811 since Christmas and love it. It plays all discs that I have put in it and the sound quality with headphones is amazing. The price is a steal as they were over $300.00 last year. You can purchase a universal battery for the Go video unit at Compusa for only $79.00

Comment: This item is very convenient and very accessible. I had to order it to entertain my 3 young ones while we travel and it works very well. I use it all the time in our car and utilize it as well in the kids room to put my daughter to bed.
I just hope that I could get another battery power that comes with it. It was dropped one time and one of the little connectors got broken. Please let me know if anyone out there has any info. Otherwise, excellent toy! Thanks.
