Tech Talk
Progressive scanning: Progressive scanning displays all the horizontal lines of a picture at one time, as a single frame. A progressive scanning DVD player converts the interlaced (480i) video from DVD into progressive (480p) format for connection to a progressive display. It dramatically increases the vertical resolution.

Component video: Video signals with three channels of separate information that make up the picture. There are a couple types of component video, such as R/G/B and Y/Cb(Pb)/Cr(Pr).

What's in the Box
JVC XVN410BK DVD player, remote control, 2 AA batteries, and printed operating instructions.

Summary: Mine Has Been Great!!!! 2007-06-10
Comment: I know that this player is no longer available but I have had mine for 2 years and it has NEVER failed me. I have a new Samsung HTIB and the JVC will play burned DVDs that the new Samsung will not. I like the blue light across the door and the door itsef is no more flimsy than a Toshiba I have that failed after only 6 months, a Panasonic that failed after a year. I bought mine when it was still a prtty new to the market and i paid 89.00 for mine but it has been the best one for me and I'll look to JVC the next time I get a player. I'm sorry so many people have issues with there units, but hey maybe I just got lucky I don't know but I am VERY happy with mine.

Summary: Still freezes after firmware upgrade 2005-12-18
Comment: Even with updated firmware this unit still freezes up. Even the power button will not work, and it must be unplugged to reset it. Also, JVC is not responding to my emails.

Summary: Cheap, flimsy with a cool blue light. 2005-09-24
Comment: Good for the price. MP3 Playback does not read any ID3 Tags, and only has the track-number as reference. Very quiet unit, nice and cute looking.

Summary: Plays Any DVD-R 2005-09-18
Comment: I love this unit for the simple fact that it plays all the DVD-R I've burned regardless of the brand. I've used Maxell, Memorex, Ritek, Ridata, and Prodisc. My Kenwood DVD player which cost a lot more won't play as many brands. The firmware upgrade is keep to get. The only bad thing I've found about this DVD player is the door which is flimsy and gets stuck at times falls off. I just plop it back on. The viewing quality is great. It's very lightweight and easy to function. I'd highly recommend this unit to anyone that's just looking for a simple and basic DVD player with a lot of flexibility.

Summary: Great CD DVD Player 2005-09-01
Comment: It is really a great product. I use it to view CD and DVD family movies that I have built. It certainly is great for viewing DVD that I get from movie rental places. It uses very little space and is simple to instal.
