However, this is a very close modle, if not a mis-labeled 2205 (looks identical). The going price new at a large discount chain (where this was purchased) is 69.87. Online, I have seen as low as 62.00 new. This has sparse information on the net, and Magnavox does not have it on their website yet. Let me give you the skinny on this player. So far so good. It works well with my older very basic tv. I am using the coax cable in, with no disintigration in the picture, no RF modulator needed. Features: Non-progressive scan DVD player, 4 head VCR with stereo out on back, mono inputs on the front. We decided on Magnavox because the year before, we had first taken the DVD plunge by purchasing a small, even more inexpensive Magnavox DVD player (for my workout room) which had delivered flawless performance. So far, this product has met our expectations as well. Both DVD and VHS playback are excellent, and the simple features of the unit are easy-to-use. The one criticism we have of this product is the remote, which is quite confusing: it has too many tiny buttons, and the most-used items are not featured prominently enough. Otherwise, we are completely satisfied with our purchase, and we would definitely recommended this unit to others looking for a basic, affordable combo player. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual Deck, MWD2206 (Electronics) It doesn't support DIVX, MPEG or AVI files. Picture quality is ok. Would accept that it runs quite well for the price($49). I haven't heard any sound from VHS so far! Will keep this one as a secondary unit. If you just want to play DVD/VHS tapes, go for this one. In reviews i often do hear about remote problems. Well in this case, buttons in remote are quite simple and straightforward. |
