Pioneer Exclusive Viter-Bi RF decoding process improves the player's error-correcting capability over earlier-generation players. A newly developed digital servo ensures precise data reading, while automatic gain level adjustment minimizes clock "jitter" of individual discs.
A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (1 each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. A 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter ensures optimum decoding of all disc formats.
Playback options include condition memory (which recalls set-up conditions such as language, subtitle, aspect ratio, and mode for up to 30 DVDs), and last memory resume (which recalls the last scene played--and the set-up conditions--for 5 DVDs).

With all of its audio and video outputs, it integrates beautifully into just about any system. The DV-414 has component, s-video, and composite video outputs, as well as coaxial and optical digital audio outputs. You might be tempted to believe that Pioneer would not be able to deliver great performance out of a player with this many features as such a low price point, but that isn't the case. Picture quality is astounding, and the audio is excellent, especially through the digital audio outputs. The DV-414 is an excellent addition to any home theater, from inexpensive shelf systems to the ultra high-end. Buy it, you won't be dissapointed. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By Jose Eduardo da Rocha Azevedo "Zé" (São Paulo, SP Brazil) - See all my reviews This review is from: Pioneer DV-414 DVD Player (Electronics) PROS: Full featured for a home theatre system (96KHz 24 bit D/A converter, Dolby Digital, DTS, optical output, component video output), nice price, EXCELLENT image and sound quality, beats other DVDs I've seen on these fields, nice face, LED panel can be turned off, lots of programming possibilities for those addicted to this (not my case, I'm confortable with viewing and hearing its quality). CONS: Remote doesn't have the best layout, may not be compatible with Pioneer's DVD R/RW. With the DV 414, Pioneer has proven that although quality has a price, it doesn't need to be above US$ 300. Bought mine on December 1999 and couldn't be happier, specially considering its price/features/performance/quality. If you like movies and are budget conscious, I can only but recommend the DV 414. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Pioneer DV-414 DVD Player (Electronics) Excellent playback with just the right balance for a starter DVD. The player has all the basic needs covered for a DVD player at a great price. All this, not to mention that it is a Pioneer, a mainstream name brand that is trusted. |
