Enjoy cinema-quality video and sound at home with the RCA RC6000P progressive-scan DVD player. The RC6000P features progressive-scan output for smooth, flicker-free images when connected to a digital TV system, and multiple aspect ratios that can be switched between 4:3 and 16:9 (widescreen) at the touch of a button. And since it's CD compatible, you can use it to enjoy your favorite regular-format compact discs as well as DVD movies. The RC6000P plays computer-compatible MP3-encoded discs but does not play audio CD-R discs.

The audio features on the RC6000P include Dolby Digital and DTS bit-stream outputs for full 5.1-channel surround sound capability. Built-in Dolby Digital decoding means this player can be used with a less expensive six-channel receiver and still process true Dolby Surround. SRS TruSurround processing lets the listener enjoy a surround sound experience through the use of two stereo speakers, while dynamic-range compression automatically quiets loud noises like explosions and increases the volume of dialogue.

RCA has also built in a host of convenient features to take full advantage of DVD technology. View just your favorite sections of a movie with programmable playback, scan through the disc via chapter/track search, or insert a marker at the location of your choice for fast indexing back to that point. The picture-scan feature provides clear pictures through five different speeds of advance or reverse, and three slow-motion speeds allow for fine-tune scanning. Review your favorite scenes with A-B repeat, which repeats a certain section defined between two points; automatically repeat your favorite DVD chapter or audio CD track; and use the zoom function to increase the size of the onscreen image for a closer look.

A jog-shuttle dial control provides automatic track selection for CDs, and a full complement of other operational controls are included on the front panel. In addition, the parental rating control feature on the RC6000P DVD player enables parents to decide what is suitable for their children to watch.

The connectivity options on the RC6000P DVD player include component-video outputs for the best possible connection to compatible TVs. An optical audio output is also included for optimal connection to digital audio receivers.

RCA's RC6000P DVD player comes with a universal remote control that controls all DVD functions, and stereo audio/video cables for quick setup.

RCA offers a one-year warranty on parts and 90 days on labor for the RC6000P.
