Summary: Samy Blu Ray 2010-03-10
Comment: great picture, has some funny bugs I can't seem to work around. Wireless connection and commands a little funky, super cool case/body style. Odd DVD loading made finding a location for the unit limiting. From the side, plan in advance for future purchase. Menus could be easier, but ok.
Using with Samy 8000 series LED TV. Price was great value. Love the built in streaming, though our Roku is better. Streaming picture quality is very good even with non HD stream. See my review on Samy 8000

Summary: When it worked it was just OK 2010-03-09
Comment: Ok, so I am bitter. After 3 months and 8 days it died. That is sadly just 8 days after the limited labor warranty wore out. The unit was good at playing dvds, bluray and various downloaded (burned to disc) movie formats. The player would crash sometimes while playing netflix (which was the reason for buying this unit).

Overall as I sit here looking at my useless (but pretty) samsung player I am praying that someone reads this and thinks about buying another brand.

Summary: Great Blu Ray 2010-03-08
Comment: This blu ray is a little pricey, but for the price you get a whole bunch of features. I'm always using it for netflix. I've had it for almost a year and in the beginning it had trouble maintaining a connection with netflix/internet. But I stuck with it, updated the firmware and voila! no more problems! It comes with a wireless dong so it's easy to connect to the internet. I watch youtube vids all the time on my HDTV, and surprisingly it doesn't lag! Some other blu rays may be more affordable but this one matches my tv perfectly and looks great! It has a lot of features that I use often so I really don't regret buying it.

Summary: GET THE BEST FIRST! EXLCELLENT!!! 2010-02-27
Comment: This product is very sharp and a class act. Dont buy a cheaper Netflix ready device,,,some of the slower ones chop up the movie,,,stop then restart. This model has been excellent. Also dont pay more than about $249 for it.

Summary: Samsung BD-P4600 very nice overall, but remote is drawback 2010-02-18
Comment: The Blu Ray player is a very nice addition to any entertainment system, with its sleek and minimal design. Doesn't take up a whole bunch of space, and its capability to be wall mounted is awesome! It has two IR sensors, one on the side and one on top depending on whether or not you lay it flat, wallmount it, or have it propped up using the stand at a slight incline.

If you have a Samsung TV that has "Inter Connectivity" like I do, all you have to do is turn on the Samsung Blu Ray player and the TV automatically turns on and sets the input to the Blu Ray player. A very nice and convenient feature if you have a Samsung TV that is. The load times are pretty quick. Pandora and Netflix/Blockbuster are a welcome addition pre loaded on the device, and my experience so far with the netflix is great. The movie streams nicely, and not picture or pixel probs to say the least.

The Bad:
The remote. It is a little more compact compared to my remote for the TV (UN55B6000), so the navigational buttons are a little difficult at times to press. Compared to Logitech remotes, this one that comes with the player is pretty inferior. I've found myself using the controls that are pre-built into my TV remote and have sparingly used the Blu Ray remote. The ONLY way that this remote could be better than my tv remote, was IF it used a Radio frequency transmitter, instead of IR. That would totally make up for its short comings in a huge way. Unfortunately not though.
The response times of the remote are slightly delayed when pressing a command function, but not anything too terrible. You do need to point at the player fairly close for it to respond, and that can be annoying.

Overall:
A nice device considering I've had it for a little over 3 months now with uses about every other day, whether its for Pandora, or Netflix. With its sleek surface can get finger prints and smudges easily, but they come off just as easily with an LCD cloth cleaner (came with my TV). The price point was fairly high when I last checked which I believe was around $315! I purchased my right before Christmas for $200 even through Amazon, so if your able to find one for around that price I would definitely jump on it. The ToC (Touch of Color) around the edges is pretty awesome and provides a nice contemporary/modern look that goes well with most wood or gall entertainment furniture set ups or on the wall directly below the wall mounted tv =).

Hopefully this review was helpful and good luck shopping!
