Summary: Absolute rubbish 2010-07-06
Comment: So of about 20 Blu-Ray discs I've gotten from rental, only 5 have played. The ones that don't play are, oddly enough, from Sony Pictures. Doing some googling, I found that it needs external memory to play some discs. No problem, I put in a 8GB stick, and it verifies it has external memory yet it still gives the dreaded "cannot playback this disk" and in the menu, it says "Unknown" with a nice, insulting ? on the disc.
This player is absolute garbage, the only reason it gets 2 stars is because when it does work, it works amazingly well. But being unable to play Sony Pictures BDs? Wow, that's lame and not a little bit ironic.

Summary: Does not stream netflix 2010-06-17
Comment: This player does not stream Netflix or Amazon on demand. Unless you really need wireless (although i can't see the point with this player if you cant stream any internet content), I'd suggest a cheaper DVD player. Or skip the DVD player all together and buy a ROKU...which is what i ended up doing after 3 failed attempts at buying one that played Blu-ray AND streamed Netflix and Amazon. Why Sony would sell their "upgraded" model that cannot stream other content is beyond me. The cheaper model SONY N460 does stream Netflix and Amazon (but you need a router). Sorry Sony, I'll stick with your TV's for now!

Summary: High Quality and Easy to use 2010-06-16
Comment: The BDP-S560 is very easy to use and provides as good a Blu-ray picture as I have seen (I still maintain that in general BR is not that much better than a well upconverted DVD on a good HDTV and I have seen some BRs that don't even look that good). Once you set up the wireless conection and set it to autoupdate firmware you don't even have to think about the network connectivity or firmware status, which is really nice. It does not do much as far as Pandora or Netflix but luckily in this day and age I have multiple other devices that do just fine with those features anyway. For a player that just does a solid job of playing BRDs without any hassle, this player works nicely.

Summary: SONY BDP-S560 BLU-RAY PLAYER 2010-06-08
Comment: I am very disappointed with this unit. It takes too long to load up and you can not go back to where you stop. Close caption is also a problem.
